Hello and welcome to my blog. This blog will be used for the
assignments this semester in COMM 200, at Valley City State University, Fall
2013. The aim for this blog, in addition to being the place where I will submit
my assignments for class, will really be my sounding board on topics that
strike my fancy. Barring assigned topics, there will be very little rhyme or
reason to expounded topics, save that I felt like writing about that particular
thing that week.
My blog is named “Big Fish, Small Pond” as that’s sometimes
what I feel here, being raised in a city of 180,000 for a majority of my life.
Beyond that, I’ll leave you to draw any other meanings.
I figure that in order to understand what I’m doing, you
should probably know a bit about me. Now, as this is the internet, I don’t
intend to give Social Security numbers and passports, you understand. My name
is Robert, I’m 27 years old, and I’m a junior at Valley City State University.
My major is English Education, recently switched from the Medical Laboratory
Technician program, as I found myself going cross-eyed with all the science. I
live with my family: mother and father, brother, and dog. I enjoy reading
fiction, mainly fantasy and science fiction, though I find myself with less
time to enjoy reading lately with all the schooling and work. I don’t really
like people all that much, unfortunately, especially in large groups. It’s a
strange thing to have when you work retail and intend to be a teacher. I think
you’ll end up learning more about me as the semester goes on, so I’ll leave it
there for now.
